Pilton Quayside’s unique location also brought unique logistical problems due to restrictions in operating space. The building is supported on steel cased piled foundations, in order to protect the quay wall these were pre-bored prior to the casings being finally driven to bed rock. The building is traditionally constructed of brick, block and natural stone with wide slab PCC intermediary floors. The roof coverings are natural slate and the timber windows are factory triple glazed manufactured in Sweden with factory applied finishes.
